Garden Designer

In 2024 I made a huge step on my career change journey to enrol on the KLC-West Dean College Garden Design diploma. This step has been years in the making but I can now say that I’m excited to be learning from design experts in the studio in Chelsea.

I’m most influenced by naturalistic planting styles, including the New Perennials movement, alongside gardeners such as John Little, Beth Chatto, Errol Fernandes and Fergus Garrett. I am professionally qualified with the RHS (to level 2) and responsible for maintaining a small number of gardens in South East London.

The idea of regeneration and care for our natural environment is something which inspired my progression from medicine. I still hold a weekly NHS clinic for community mental health in central London and ideas from psychology underpin my appreciation of garden spaces. It matters that people have access to green spaces which inspire and allow them to feel connected to the world around them.
